#ClassInSession: The End Of An Era

Let me just start by saying to try & give a synopsis of this message would never do it justice. So what I will do is what I said I was going to do with this #ClassInSession tag, I’m going to write about these 4 things:

  • Where Am I in this? 🤔

  • What points spoke the loudest? 🗣

  • What sparked your light bulb moment? 💡

  • If you met the speaker & could ask a question, what would you ask?⁉️

You ready? Let’s go…

Message: “The End Of An Era”
Teacher: Pastor Sarah Jakes-Roberts
Class: Sunday, January 28,2021
Scripture: John 2:4-11, NKJV

  • 🤔Where Am I in this?

    • I literally just started rubbing my head as I thought about this question. It’s like HOW can you even as me that. I’m all in this message. I’m in the NOW portion and the NEXT portion. How? This message connected with me? I must be honest I think I’ve played it over 5+ times. Each time I’ve gotten a new nugget. But let’s get back to the question at hand, where am I in this?

    • In the beginning of the message Pastor Sarah went back to the Gospel of John to give her message a backdrop. She went back to the story of Jesus staying behind in the temple but not informing Mary & Joseph. She used this story to discuss how Jesus resonated with the temple, there was something about remaining there that “felt” right, but it wasn’t his time. It wasn’t His time become the Rabbi or the great teacher. That spoke to me. I experienced something a few years back that made me say “this, this is what I’ve been looking for, this is the place I need to be,” it took a while for me to see it, to feel it, but when my eyes opened I was so excited. I had finally found that place, the inner part of me was yearning for. And just as I found it, it was gone. No longer existed. Since then I have not been able to get that “taste out of my mouth.”

    • I’m wondering was that the Lord’s way of giving me a glimpse into my future. A glimpse into MY NEXT. Things that make you go…. 🤔

  • 🗣What points spoke the loudest?

    • “When You Surrender to Now You Don’t Lose Your Next.”

    • “If the problem vexes you, then you have what it takes to solve it.”

      • “We do not have to accept as fact, what we have the ability to change”

      • I think it’s hard to think of yourself as a solution, especially when life has a dealt you a hand that seems you will incur more problems than you will ever fix. But this message highlights something that I truly believe…

If you have life, you have a purpose
— I have no clue, it just stuck with me
  • 💡What sparked your light bulb moment?

    • Was there only one?

    • What does it mean to be the answer to a problem? What does it mean to be exactly what ONE person needs? How does that make you feel? Do you believe that to be true? If your talent could be used to help just ONE person would you prepare? For me, this made me feel like I have to learn, read, study, pray, because I want to help. I want to be a solution.

    • It’s important to prepare for your NEXT, while in the middle of your NOW. I think I’ve known that but sometimes it doesn’t stick or you just need a refresher. I think we can get bored with our now, so listening the this message motivated me to keep working toward my next. I think we can get irritated when life doesn’t go as we expect, this gave me a peace that things WILL happen for me, timing is everything. I just need to do my part & be ready.

    • I was thinking what gives you the boldness to come forward when NOW comes? What’s going on internally? I’m wondering if it’s like two fold, the aforementioned preparation gives you confidence that you have done the work but the next step is more/most important, that is trust. That is believing that you are the solution, that you were created for this time, this moment. Jesus performed the miracle & didn’t taste the wine to check. He just trusted/knew that water would be wine.

  • ⁉️If I could ask Pastor Sarah one question about this message, what would it be?

    • Pastor Sarah you highlighted that from Jesus’ time at the Temple to the Wedding at Cana over EIGHTEEN YEARS passed by. From her message Jesus’ NOW was the time in the Temple, His NEXT was the Wedding. My question, what was your now, what was your next, how much time did you wait between them, and how did you prepare? That’s actually FOUR questions, in one long sentence, but I would love to listen to her explain this walk from her experience.

Well this was #ClassInSession for this week. I sure HOPE you enjoyed learning about what I learned. Even more I HOPE you were encouraged too. If nothing else, KNOW, you are the solution to a problem. Your life has value and there is at least ONE person that will one day need you.

Be Encouraged
