For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he
— Proverbs 23:7

This scripture has been wondering in my head for years. I haven’t known exactly what to do with it. I’ve tried reading it in different biblical translations and studying it, I’ve discussed it with others but it wasn’t until I truly considered this blog that I knew why it had been swimming with me for so long.

See in my fight to overcome depression I had to learn about me: how do I process, how do I think? I had to discover that my thoughts are not only tied directly to my actions but how I feel. So I begin to ask myself a poignant question…

“How is your thought life?”

That question has taken me on a journey, one that has forced me to get to know myself more intimately. This blog is a reflection of that journey, from childhood to now I reflect and ask questions. I also look to learn about others in their walk with mental illness. For those of us challenged with these disorders or maybe you love someone that is being challenged, I HOPE this can be one of many resources that brings you comfort and encouragement.

A survey of your thought life will open your eyes to the myriad of ways the words that were spoken to you, about you, around you, or by you have shaped who you are. Let’s checkout how my #thoughtlife has shaped me.
